A brand new indoor shooting destination is about to open its doors soon. Owner Rob Marcum of Lotus Gunworks has announced that his indoor shooting range, Alamo, will be open by mid-June. Marcum owns three gun ranges. One of which is situated in Stuart on Florida’s east coast while the other is based in Louisville, Ky.
The Kentucky native has said the retail space with feature firearms covering nearly every wall. Located near the Equity Realty (about 1 mile) plaza in Naples, The Alamo (2390 Vanderbilt Beach Road) will provide Naples residents access to knowledge and hands on firearms experience.
Hardwood floors and a VIP lounge area are just a few of the highlights that Marcum says makes his shooting range unique. Marcum stated that Naples was a great place for an indoor range that’s sheltered from the heat and he is able to accommodate for his 40 employees.
Marcum also mentioned that there were a few changes needed to be made to the precast building. Metromont Corp. in Bartow in Central Florida manufactured the concrete building. Changes to the precast building required inspection by the company.
A year ago, at 4651 Mercantile Ave., near Livingstone road, Naples Gun Range & Emporium opened up. Some residents of Collier County are opposed to the addition of more guns.
Robbie Abell, Marcum’s business partner, has said that Alamo is a place where people can be educated about guns, practice and safety. There are 19 handgun lanes with competition targets and six rifle lanes with ballistic glass for spectators.
The whole retail space has an unusually high standard of air quality. Taking up 3000 square feet of roof space are the filter systems and motors that will change out air every 60 to 85 seconds. Marcum stated that most gun ranges, let you soak up the toxic lead smoke. Floridians will definitely have more fun with the opening of Alamo.
